RDIF, Gamaleya institute can produce Sputnik V in Ukraine

MOSCOW, Dec 8 (PRIME) -- The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Gamaleya research institute are considering producing the Sputnik V vaccine in Ukraine, the fund said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The RDIF and the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology are ready to produce the vaccine in Ukraine and send the documents for its registration by the state regulative authorities,” the RDIF said.

“Production of the ready form of the vaccine on the territory of Ukraine has been organized by one of the leading pharmaceutical companies Biolik. The facilities of Biolik, where the vaccine will be produced, meet all current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements."

Head of the fund Kirill Dmitriyev said that the attitude of foreign colleagues, in particular, in the E.U., towards the vaccine has changed over time to positive.
